You don’t have to shout angrily through a bullhorn to build racial unity. All you have to do is be there, like Amelia Boynton Robinson, in the right place for the right reason at the right time. Quiet strength matters. You can spark fires of change with your commitment to unity through the courage of your conscience.

    Ask yourself:

    1) EXERCISE LOVE — What steps must I take to exercise love to others, especially towards those who are different from me?

    2) EXIST AS AN EXAMPLE — Am I strong enough to be an example of reaching out in unity when those around me are caught up in finger-pointing and back-biting?

    3) EXTEND LIBERTY — What actions can I take — or not take — to further the freedom of all, no matter the color of their skin?

    4) EXALT UNITY — Be visionary. WRITE DOWN ONE THING YOU CAN DO — THAT YOU’RE NOT PRESENTLY DOING — TO BRING UNITY TO YOUR SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT.
